What's News in Rhinophoto 1.00 PDF Print E-mail

What's New in Version 1.00 SR1C - September 2009

  • Improvements in 3D computation of complex scenes
  • 2 Important bugs  in 3D computation  fixed
  • New command "Orient by 3 points" (work same way than "Orient by 5 points" command)
  • Display now the targets configuration file in the main dailog box
  • A project computed containts now all the files to be recomputed (on an other PC with a different configuration)
  • When defining scale and orientation of 3D points the config.txt file is now automatically modified and a new computation gives same results, same orientation
  • Bug fixed in tips of arrows computation
  • Some minor cosmetic improvements

What's New in Version 1.00 SR1 - May 2009

  • New simplified Camera calibration, with a new calibration grid and need only 4 photos
Note : If you already have calibrated your camera and have no accuracy problem, no need to calibrate again.
  • Improvements 3D computation
  • Improvements in target reading (speed and quality)
  • New Arrow targets Pdf file + Arrow targets Configuration file

Bugs fixed :

  • Several Bugs in Rhinophoto Graphic display
  • Crash when running several time the "Compute" button in the same session
  • Crash when computing Tips of Arrows

What's New in Version 1.00 - December 19, 2008

  • News tools functions :
    • Assemble Individual Scenes
    • Compare Individual Scenes
    • Save Undistorted Photos
  • New license manager
    • Get infos on your license,
    • Transfert license to one other computer
  • New Floatting network license, allows to install Rhinophoto on several computers.
  • Improvements in error messages
  • Fixed a bug in computation of angles of cameras.
  • Minor bugs fixed.

What's New in Version 0.9.4 - November 10, 2008

  • New command to "Orient the 3D scene by 5 points" :

  • New "Tools" menu with 2 sub menus "Best Fit between Rhinophoto layers" & "Save Undistorted Photos".
    Tools_menu.png
    • "Best Fit between layers" is not currently finished and will be released for the final version.
    • "Save Undistorted Photos" save all photos with the lens distortion correction.
      Before undistortion :

      After undistortion :
      undistorted_photo.png

All the "Undistorted photos" are placed in a project sub folder ../Undistorted/ and are named with the suffix "-u"

  • Improvements into reconstruction algorithms :
    • Better handle of limit cases.
    • Better assembly of complex 3D scenes.

  • Fixed the bug of error messages : message was "Computation Successful" even if the computation fails !

  • Added news error messages  and color code :
    • If computation is OK :

    • If there are problems but it was possible to create 3D points (generally multiple scenes was created)

    • If it is impossible to compute or if computation give very bad results (due to a targets problem, target reading error, bad configuration...)

What's News in Version 0.9.3 - October 6, 2008

  • Rhinophoto Text menus re-organized.wn_093_01.png
  • New Rhinophoto dialog box with possibility to show the photos, select/unselect photo, select/unselect 2D points, display Project information...
    wn_093_02.png

  • New script for creating Uncoded Targets Stripes.
    wn_093_03.png

  • Possibility to compute Uncoded targets (stripes).
    wn_093_04.png

  • Possibility to compute Tips coded targets points. Rhinophoto compute and add points in a "RhinophotoTips" layer.wn_093_08.png
    wn_093_05.png
  • Coded target script add a Red dot on Targets. The position of this red dot can be computed after 3D computation with the command "Compute Arrows Tips".
    wn_093_06.png
  • Modification of the kernel to use multithreading. Targets Detection uses simultaneously all the cores of multi-core processors.
    core2.jpg
  • Target detection speed improvement.
  • Target detection error security system : If user made mistake (add two times the same target in same project)  or if coded targets are misread (bad number read) Rhinophoto do not use the bad points and create it as a Uncoded Target Point (under tests).
  • Possibility to run several computation on different projects (a new layer is automatically created).
    wn_093_07.png
  • Writes a text file containing the cameras matrix into the project folder (write a text file named "camres.txt")
  • ...
