Version 3.0 released

New features of the Version 3.0 - March 2011

  • New feature in the Scale and Orients Command (menu : Rhinophoto > Scale and Orientate) :
    Now Rhinophoto displays the point number and a colored rubber band representing the axis or distances
    when picking the points.

  • Possibility to use several different lens with same focal Length : Rhinophoto automatically displays a
    dailog box when several camera calibration files exist. That allows to use different lenses with
    same focal length.
    eg. : A Nikon D5000 with a 18-55 VR lens, Nikon D5000 with a 18-55 Non VR lens and
    Nikon D5000 with a 18mm Tamron lens

    You just have to add extra characters to the name of camera after calibration, eg :
    NIKON CORPORATION_NIKON D5000.18.00.cam
    become
    NIKON CORPORATION_NIKON D5000.18.00_TAMRON.cam
     
  • Computation of 3D Tolerance Area : Rhinophoto display now the 3D ellipsoid of 3D tolerance.
    The 3D tolerances ellipsoid are stored in layers .
    The true 3D point is included in the ellipsoid at Standard Deviation.

  • Added Possibility to select the number of core/thread you want to use during computation

    Just set the value on Max thread used,  this setup is automatically saved when closing the dailog box
     

  • New tool command : Compute Normal vectors of 3D points (menu : Rhinophoto > Tools >> Compute Normals)
    Run the command, enter length of vectors...(length can be positive or negative)

  • New Calibration Camera process
    Rhinophoto V3.0 uses new calibration camera algorithms and new calibration grid. It improve up to 30%
    the quality of calibration.
    The process is the same than the V 2.0 : 4 photos taken with the camera rotated 90° of a grid fixed on
    perfectly flat area.

    The Dailog box is now the standard  Rhinophoto dailog box and at the end the results are displayed.img_2.jpg

    Note : A Camera calibration file generated with the V3.0 can be used with a V2.0
  • New Camera Calibration auto-improvement
    Rhinophoto offer the possibility to automatically finely adjust the camera calibration parameters.


    This computation is done simultaneoustly with the 3D computation. It need the four first photos of the project have been
    taken by rotating the camera 90° each (in a similar way that  the camera calibration shooting) on an area where the is several
    coded targets (the most possible coded targets without changing the focus)

    It improve the existing calibration and create a new camera calibration file used only by the project.

  • Multiple Reference Scale Bars
    Rhinophoto uses news algorithms for constraint the 3D Scene on several reference bars
    This dramatically increases the accuracy.



    How to dispose Reference Bar ?
    On Long object : use 3 Bars 2 x horizontal and 1 x vertical


    On square object : Use 2 Reference Bar at ~90°

     
  • Automatic recognition of Reference Scale Bar used in the project
    Rhinophoto now analyze the project and automatically detect the reference bar present in the project.

    We advise you use reference bar with numbers upper than 1000
  • New Licence management system
    includes a new dailog box with all  information and possibility of the license

  • Module Stair builder included in the version (15 days trial)
    The modules Stairbuilder is included in the version and can be tested for 15 days

  • Added possibility of use black Coded targets and simultaneously black Uncoded targets 
    You can now choose the color of Uncoded and Coded targets (V2.0 needs White Coded and Black Uncoded)
